Our Practices
BoxcarGreens is a state-of-the-art commercial hydroponic facility with the ability to grow a varieties lettuces, herbs, microgreens and root vegetables year-round, regardless of weather conditions. From seed to mature crop, our produce is grown in a clean, closed, controlled environment devoted solely to the provision of optimal plant growth conditions. All crops are grown vertically to maximize space utilization and minimize water use that is up to 50 times lower than produce grown outdoors. We use only non-GMO seeds, and all crops are grown with clean reverse osmosis, deionized water to provide hyperlocal produce of the highest quality, nutritional value, and taste to the residents of the Monroe County area.
